Putting families first in bedford county

Hi, I'm Charla. I'm running for re-election to represent District 3 on Bedford County's Board of Supervisors.

I live in Goode and I'm passionate about keeping our taxes low, attracting more jobs and businesses to our county, and keeping government accountable to the taxpayers.

When I ran four years ago, I promised “More Jobs.  Less Taxes.”  In the words of President Trump, “Promises made. Promises kept.” 

Through God’s provision, we have been able to …

Invest a Tobacco grant and matching funds to build a shell building in the New London business park that is now resulting in a manufacturing company moving into the space in 2021 and bringing 50 new jobs to Bedford County.

Assist existing businesses through the EDA- Economic Development Authority- helping them increase jobs, such District 3’s Custom Truck One Source, which doubled production in Bedford County, and hired 61 new production-based employees.

Not only have we increased jobs, we have lowered your taxes, the Board of Supervisors voted to decrease your personal property tax rate from .52 to .50

We have xercised fiscal responsibility in spending, resulting in an unassigned fund balance of 25% of operating expenditures. These funds not earmarked for a specific purpose give the County a safety net in time of emergency and provides credit worthiness.

But there is still much to do.That is why I am asking for your support for my reelection.
